Hi, I’m Ashlyn.
And like most people in my generation, I use AI almost every day. For writing, brainstorming, quick answers, you name it. It’s fast, convenient, and honestly, pretty impressive.
But here’s the thing no one really talks about enough:
Even though I use AI, I don’t fully trust it.
And I’m not alone.
It Feels Too Perfect to Be Real
Growing up online, we’ve seen everything from overly filtered photos to perfectly curated lives. At some point, you start to question what’s real and what’s just… polished.
That’s exactly how a lot of AI-generated content feels.
Too clean.
Too structured.
Too perfect.
And when something feels too perfect, it also feels a little… off.
Human work, on the other hand, has texture. It has small imperfections, personality, and a voice that feels real. And for us, that matters more than flawless output.
I Use AI, But I Don’t Rely on It
I use AI to save time.
If I’m stuck, it helps me get started. If I’m overwhelmed, it helps me organise my thoughts.
But when it comes to the final output?
I still go back, edit, rewrite, and make it my own.
Because somewhere along the way, you realise:
AI can assist, but it can’t replace your thinking.
A lot of us feel like AI is slightly overhyped. It promises a lot, but it doesn’t always deliver the depth or originality we’re looking for.
Something is Missing Emotion
AI can generate words.
But it doesn’t really understand what those words feel like.
It can’t replicate:
And that shows.
When I read something written by a real person, I can feel it. There’s an intention behind it. There’s a story.
With AI, sometimes it just feels like… words arranged correctly.
I Don’t Want to Lose My Creativity
This is something I think about a lot.
If I rely too much on AI, will I stop thinking for myself?
Will I become less creative?
A lot of people my age feel the same way. We don’t want to lose the ability to:
So even if AI makes things easier, we’re careful not to let it take over completely.
Trust Is Also About Accuracy
Another thing? AI isn’t always right.
It can be biased.
It can make things up.
It can sound confident even when it’s wrong.
And that’s risky.
We’ve grown up in a time where information is everywhere, and misinformation spreads fast. So naturally, we question things more.
Human work isn’t perfect either, but at least there’s accountability behind it.
So… Do We Hate AI? Not At All.
This isn’t about rejecting AI.
It’s about balance.
We use AI because it’s useful.
But we trust humans because they’re real.
That’s the difference.
What This Means Going Forward
If you’re creating content, building a brand, or trying to connect with Gen Z—this matters more than you think.
We don’t just look at content.
We feel it.
And we can tell when something lacks a human touch.
So the goal isn’t to avoid AI.
It’s to use it without losing what makes your content human.
Final Thought
AI can help you create faster.
But humans make things meaningful.
And for Gen Z, meaning will always matter more than speed.
If you’re building a brand and want your content actually to connect, not just exist, you need the right balance.
At Eleven:11 Marketing Services, we help you combine smart AI tools with real human creativity, so your content feels authentic, engaging, and trusted.
Let’s create something people don’t just read but actually believe.
